Activities

1. Community sensitization: KAB organizes various awareness raising activities in Kaski district targeted to the stakeholders of the organization to develop positive attitude towards the capabilities of the blind and to ensure their meaningful participation in all aspects of the social development.

2. Assistive devices distribution: KAB provides white canes, slate stylus and other educational materials to empower BVI persons and support to ensure their fullest mobility and educational career.

3. Educational program (Audio Library and scholarship support): KAB believes education is the foundation of a productive life of all visually impaired people living in the Kaski district, therefore its establishment KAB has given its highest priority to education. As a result it is running Nepal’s first national audio library for the blind which benefited more than 11,000 students so far. As most of the blind students come from a poor economic family background we are providing scholarships to support their education.

4. Capacity building training: We regularly organize leadership development, organization and office management, book keeping, project proposal and report writing trainings to enhance the leadership and writing capacity of the members.

5. Vocational training: KAB provides various vocational trainings to its members in order to make them economically sustaining and socially proactive citizens in society. Some of the training we are running are mobile repairing training for people with physical disabilities, knitting training for people with any type of disability, swing training for primarily physically disabled people and music training for the blind.

6. Income generation program: Being a person with a disability in a poor family hinders them from empowerment. Therefore, we are running an income generation program where we distribute goats, send seeds to start new farming businesses and provide soft loans for new social enterprises through the cooperation
